 Welcome to Windward Creations, a small custom furniture company located in Houston Texas. Here at Windward Creations Michael Weneck specializes in creating fine wooden furniture and decorative items. The pieces that Mike creates are almost exclusively original designs that have been painstakingly brought through the creative process to a finished piece. He favors a contemporary style in the vein of the modern studio furniture movement. In the fall of 2007, his Tusk Console Table, the photo at left, won the awarded for Best Contemporary Furniture at the 8th annual Kerrville Texas Furniture Makers Show.
In addition to the furniture and accessories, Mike is also creating pieces of wall art that are power carved from selected slabs of figured and burl wood. The first series in this endeavor is the Galaxy Series and are inspired by the Hubble Telescope pictures. Recently a new Natural World Series was started with a piece inspired by a National Geographic picture of rivers and streams coming from a Greenland glacier.
